Fieldlight Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 2, 2026

Summary

Fieldlight is designed as an on-device light meter. It does not require an account, does not sell personal information, and does not upload camera preview frames to Fieldlight servers.

Data Fieldlight Uses

Fieldlight uses the iPhone camera to estimate scene brightness and calculate exposure recommendations. Camera access is used for live metering only.

If you save a shot log entry, Fieldlight stores the exposure values you choose, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, metering mode, timestamp, and any note you add.

If you submit the support form, Fieldlight receives the name, email address, and message you provide so the app developer can respond to feedback, comments, or support questions.

Where It Is Stored

Shot log and settings data are stored locally on your device unless Apple system services, such as device backups, sync that data as part of your normal iOS configuration.

Support form submissions are processed by Netlify and delivered by email to Fieldlight support. They are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

What It Does Not Collect

  • No Fieldlight account is required.
  • No camera preview frames are sent to Fieldlight servers.
  • No location data is collected by Fieldlight.
  • No contact list, microphone, or photo library access is required.
  • No personal information is sold.

Diagnostics and Apple Services

Apple may provide developers with crash logs, performance diagnostics, App Store analytics, or TestFlight feedback according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. Fieldlight uses this information only to understand app reliability and improve the product.

Children's Privacy

Fieldlight is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Fieldlight changes. The effective date above will change when the policy is materially updated.
